Hong Kong Sea School was founded in 1946, and began to be subvented as a full-day junior secondary school by the Education Department in 1969.In 1993, it became the first Practical School in Hong Kong.A number of practical and vocational subjects were introduced in the curriculum.In line with the mainstreaming policy of the education authority, School started mainstreaming from 2001, yet retaining all characteristics, including its naval tradition (such as drill and parade) and boarding service.The curriculum has extended to Secondary 4 and 5 accordingly.With the development of the New Senior Secondary curriculum, School will operate its first Senior Secondary Three classes in 2011/12.
